Albert Einstein and the sacredness of life

Italian version It is very difficult to rank the scientists who have left their mark on the past century. Thanks to the ingenious discoveries of these people, human life on earth has radically changed, with revolutionary advances in various scientific disciplines. Undoubtedly Albert Einstein is one of the most important scientists of the twentieth century, his genius produced revolutionary ideas in understanding the nature of light, culminating in his 1921 Nobel Prize (for his studies of the photoelectrical effect) and…

The song “Credo in me esteso” by Gio Evan

The song “Credo in me esteso” by Gio Evan

Italian version I am not a music fan, normally I listen randomly to what the radio offers me. Since my dad died in January 2024, every morning I listen to Cat Stevens’ “Father and son,” then I rely on the random algorithm of choosing the next songs, which fits well with my musical “ignorance.” Thus I was fortunate enough to come across two songs that struck me with the depth of their meaning, so much so that I decided to…

Religions and religiosity

Religions and religiosity

Italian version Among Comments of readers of “Experience of value”, which recounts the spiritual experience I had after my father’s death, I was struck by Agostino’s:“A mature religiosity and an awareness of having done everything possible with love transforms death into a peaceful act of life.“I dwell on the word religiosity, which is not a synonym for religion. A famous Italian dictionary has the following definition:religiosity: The fact of being religious, religious attitude and feeling, not necessarily related to a…

Science and spirituality: Heartmath

Italian version As anticipated in Different bodies same mind, I dedicate today’s article to http://www.heartmath.org, found a decade ago in one of my web explorations. I was intrigued by a statement related to my studies in signal theory: certain characteristics of the electrical signal associated with the heartbeat are closely related to the state of our psychophysical well-being, with particular effect on reducing the state of stress. In the introduction available at this link we read “For more than 34…

Diversi corpi stessa mente

Diversi corpi stessa mente

Different bodies same mind

Different bodies same mind

Italian version Unity is strength is a very famous proverb. It is easy to find experiences in sports that demonstrate the substantial validity of this proverb. It sometimes happens that the performance of a team is surprisingly greater than one would expect by “adding up” the value of the individual components. Think of the feats of Denmark and Greece at the 1992 and 2004 European soccer championships, the victory of Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester in the 2016 Premier League, the victory…
